round herring

I ate round herring with avocado tonight. I cooked marinated fish Yesterday night. I used round herring(Urume Iwashi in Japanese), it's so weak bones that I can clean them by hands which is named Tebiraki in Japanese. I should've sliced carrot thinner...

Hello! This picture looks delicious.
I actually just bought some urume iwashi from the Japanese grocery store, but I do not know how to cook it. If it is possible, could you please send me the recipe you used for this picture? I would appreciate it so much. Thank you

Thank you for the comment. The picture was marinaded with vinegar, water, sugar, salt, sliced onion, sliced carrot, and some herbs. I just simmered them with the liquid at low heat, about 10mintues or so. and get them cool down and put it into fridge.

Usually, People simmer them with soy sauce, mirin, sake and some water. Of course you have to clean them. We cook those fishes while they are fresh. see this page also.
