umegae mochi

It's a baked rice cake in Fukuoka, located in Kyushu, the south of Japan. Our neighbor has brought it as a souvenir. She is from Fukuoka, and so is my mother. So that, she brings this rice cake when she goes home. umegae mochi is famous to be sold in Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine. it has bean paste in it as an usual rice cake. it said that the mochi, "ume-ga-e mochi" derives from an old women baked the mochi sticked with ume-branch to solace the death of a person in the shrine in the old days. it will be tasty if you can bite the mochi just baked. it's the kinda cake you will say "one more!".

fusilli con salsa fegato

Tonight, I made a fusilli pasta with liver sauce(fusilli con salsa fegato?). It's little hot and rich sauce.

rose d'un jour

I've sipped this wine with the film, tokyo story yestarday. The title is unique. Rose d'un jour, "a rose in a day". very simple title. Usually, it's supposed to be writen "rose d'anjou". but this wine is a vin de table, table. it can't afford to be named as rose d'anjou. amusing word game. The wine maker challenge to make a good wine. as if it doesn't matter the specification. it tastes like apple jam, honey fristly. little sweet. I think it needs to be chilled for a while before drink.

Ochazuke no aji

This is one of the Yasujiro Ozu's movies. It's taken in 1952. Recently, I've rent one by one on weekends. Somehow, I like the atmosphere. He took nice shots in movies. the story is old ofcourse, but I like the atmosphere.

higueruela

I've opened a spanish wine tonight. It's better than I've expected, even though it's cheap. I've thought the spanish red wines tend to be strong and thick, but this wine wasn't. I wasn't be tired of drinking it. Usually, I've got a feeling that I'm tired of drinking a thick wine, even if the first impression is strong, I will be tired of sipping it after minutes. I don't know, maybe it's the reason why I'm a light drinker, I think.

My niece also saw it in her house, and called me, "hey there is a rainbow here!". I sent the photo to her. She sent back the photo she'd took, Actually her mother'd took it though. it's beautiful.

Frederic Cossard

We've tasted 5 bottles of Domaine Chassorney on Saturday.

Firstly, Chassornade. It's a cute bottle. I've seen a similar bottle of lemonade in a store before. It tastes little sweet and sparkling. It's a nice wine to start, but it's not easy to buy it. I will choose it on a nice occasion or situation. I meant not special occasion. I'd rather to open it in a casual party with old friends.

We've tasted "Combe Bazin", Saint Romain next. Nice smell and a nice acidy wine. Fristly, I didn't know how to describe the smells, but I think it's like pineapple after minutes. The smell kept nicely while through the tasting party. I liked it very much.

"Le ban 2004", Hautes cotes de beaune. I smelt like berrys and cacao like chocolate, yeah that's chocolate.

"Sous Roche 2004", Saint romain. I've got a feeling that it's different from "le ban". I smelt like berrys and herb like mint, or something greenness lightly. Well, I don't know how to describe it.

"Clos des argillieres 2003", Huits saint georbes. nice acidity, some of us lauded this wine, because it was 2003, very terrible heat wave. en general, the grape lacked acidity at that year. but this wine was not. very nice balanced.

Paella

Our teacher feasted us on Paella on Saturday. We've brought a wine, bread, fruits. After the lesson, she's started cooking, and I took some photos. One of her friends joined at dinner later and she's brought a few appetizers. Let's get started! We've enjoyed the dinner and chatting. It's almost midnight when I saw the time. The time flew by!

give off a nice garlic smell! Our stomach start grumbling!

let's get started!

At this time, I've choosed a Rhone rose, L'anglore, tavel. the color was like a light red wine, and tasted natural. I liked it.
