weekend drinks

I had two bottle of wines and one bottle of grappa this weekend. The rose was nice balanced. I think this is one of my most 5 favorite rose. It's made by Yannick Amirault in Bourgueil, Loire. The red was a Barolo, Manzoni vigna Big 1995. I've got a feeling of berries, cherries, little menthol(might be strange expression though) and something. I like the aged wine like this. The grappa was flavored with juniper berry. Very nice scent too!

gabbiano

I've drunk a glass of red wine tonight, Chianti Classico, Gabbiano. It tasted soften tanic, juicy and fruity. It was nice. I've also sipped a Pastis after dinner. This pastis was made with natural ingredients. no sugar, only natural sweetness and smelt herb nicely.

marchese leopoldo

I've tasted an Italian wine after a while. Marchese Leopoldo, Pinot Nero 2001. a red wine in Piemonte. nice balanced wine, taste softly and smell nice. My favorite wine shop treated this wine for a change. Usually He is good at treating French wine, but he wanted to treat some Italian wine too. I like this wine at least.

molise rosso

a 2003 wine in molise province in Italy. It's made in a winery, "Tenute di giulio". very inexpensive wine. Usually, I buy a french wine in my favorite wine shop, because he is familiar with the wines in loire, alsace, bourgogne and languedoc. but rarely, there are some Italian wines. Of course I like Italian wines too. This wine was nice to drink daily. the fist impression was much fruits like fig, little herb, and a burned barrel. and after flavor was strawberry jam. It's a nice wine.

It's the first time to eat out in 2007.

I've forgotten to take some pictures of all. I've enjoyed the fabulous dinner. The wine was also nice! This pasta was a ragu of calamary, a sea food meat sauce.
